Took the bike for a run earlier having just finished above, however the ride in the front end is very hard.
When I hit the ramps at normal speed it was much harder than before.
My gut instinct is too much oil in the stancions. Would this cause the ride to be harder?

There should be just under half a litre of oil in each fork. Could be you've put too much in or it could be you didn't bleed them after reasembly which would mean there's too much air in there. Whatever the cause of the problem the forks shouldn't provide any damping at all - if they are you'll soon blow your new seals.

I probably put about a 1/3 of a litre in each side to allow for what was already in there.
I did have the bleed screw off when putting them back in but will take them out again when this damn rain stops.

Probably overfilled then, mine leaked for a fair while without actually losing a significant amount.

Thats 330 cc you've added - And they only take 470cc

If they were leaking i'd be surprised if you lost any more than 10cc -20 cc at the most :blast

I expect the reason for your forks now being hard is they now have hydraulic lock and can't compress.

Thanks Neil, thats what I thought alright. I'll have to take the stancions out tomorrow and drain some oil out.

Cheers
