I found the right oil ring in 3 parts! Barrel in good order. Replacing single layer head gasket with 3 layer Gasket. So/ new Head Gaskets, new Rings & new Valve Guides. Might as well while pulled down! Yes, checking out Techlusion Fuel Module and yes possibley an Australian Staintune Rear Muffler. (Thankyou for the Australian input David Hunn) Removing the box and dropping the Muffler Down to fit 2 Large panniers. Well? This I will build myself? I have had an idea in my head for a few years? To get rid of the Trailer? Build a "U" shape / one piece Pannier around the back wheel. Strong enough to take the wieght of the Bike on Track Falls? With its own lights and side opening so I have a flat tray ontop and Fuel Cell behind the Rider Seat. This will help in Global Travel? ( I'm single/ no pillion). After the rebuild a Shake down for a Beer at Darwin? Then work a passage over to anywhere? Well? Africa? Then Ride the rest! Lap Top on board for all of you! I dont Know if the UK is ready for the Tasmanian version 'Platupuss DunDee'? We will see? Crikes you really don't Drink Warm Beer DO Yu? Next year I will see!
Run her in nicely,change the oil and filter,then go out for a big,big bike ride and forget all about your upsets and stress...and have a beer or several
Take your time with the rebuild mate. I fitted a Techlusion on my Adv `cos of lean running and am well pleased with the result. Let us know if there`s owt you wanna know.

I'm somehow doing a similar project, more for the hell of it than anything else, installing R11S heads on a R11GS but so far is being a little problematic, since I tend no to read the manual much and is a lot of little details to consider..
I will say more than anything you need to Tune the bike and maybe keep the trottle wide open a little longer, since the diference is not that noticiable, In fact my Old '95 GS's with the big valves are more "crumpy" than many 1150 even with the lowered final drive..
that old 1100 today waiting on Techclussion got a faulty one in? Bugger! Valves to tight ( misses down low) Hope I got those Bloody Cam sprockets timed right? I had to do the valves so one would think so? yeah I static checked as well. Even checked TDC with the trusty German Tool N:5006724 / Screwdriver? I will see tomorrow when she's cold? What did I do? Re ring, valve rubbers and a good internal clean? Lapped valves Remus exhaust and soon Techclussion? Its tight but its had a run a couple of Ks thats all. I'll retention and check those valves tomorrow?
