I went in to get some replacement grips for my 1150 as mine have worn right through to the metal. Apparently you can't buy the rubber 'grip' bit separately - instead you need the whole unit - at £70 + VAT each side!!

Is this right?! Anybody replaced just the actual rubber grip?

Sometimes they come up on ebay brand new

Got new left and right heated grip rubbers via ebay (from Rydales sell off of parts) for about a £10 each, plus P&P

Makes them look a real bargain now:D :augie

You can replace them with any slip-on grips.

Remove the bar-end weight and push the hand-protector to one side. If they're heated, then carefully slit them at one end with a razor blade or craft knife, and peel them off, being careful not to dislodge the heating wires.

Slide the new ones on using liberal amounts of hairspray.

Motorworks do just the grip rubbers I think, if not then James Sherlock do (i know cause I got some!!!). You need 2 x throttle grip if you are replacing heated grip rubbers IIRC.
Haven't done mine yet but no, you can't have my unused rubbers. Got a couple of used ones you can have though :augie

Rubbers

Easy, you don't need bm ones, just buy a two pairs from anywhere (you can only use the throttle side), slice it gently with a craft knife( I used sidecutters ) and pell it off. If you use hairspray this will glue them on and if you have to change them agian you will have porblems getting them off. No ned for adhesive as they are a tight fit and it all works fine, no probs with mine. Dave gs.

are you all mad

:rob crikey, you lot must be made of money, when mine wore out I cut a piece out of an old cycle inner tube, about 2 inches (50mm) long does it and slip it over the grip to cover the offending hole. I had to do this again in Chamonix cos it wore through and the owner of the cycle shop gave me an old tube for nowt, seems this is the standard european ` cure` (and I thought it was my idea).
