I've got an 08 R1200GS with heated grips.

There is a small hole in the left hand grip where the heating element is just visible but not damaged.

I only want to peel off the original worn grips and replace with new ones, leaving the heating elements alone, not have to buy the whole shebang.

Searching on here I saw mention of buying 2 throttle side replacement grips from Motorworks but they told me that they are only available for 1000/1100and not the 1200.

I don't want puppies or foam grips so has anyone found any rubber grip replacements to do the job ?

from what I noticed after replacing the grip on the throttle side of my 06 1200gsa I would be surprised if you could get the cover off without damaging the heated element

On my 08 (OK its a very late 08 with the LED indicators) the elements are embedded INTO the rubber and most certainly NOT under the grip. My throttle side bust and it was a new one at the dealers job, sorry but its a cash job...easy DIY but not a replacement £3 grip over the old elements, sorry.

Roger.

Thank all.

Considering one side is worn right through and the other pretty well worn I decided to bite the bullet and buy a set for £120.
