I've broken one of my pannier hinges again (actually SWMBO broke it) and balked at paying £23 for a standard plastic replacement from BMW. So I've found a metal replacement version.

These are what I got

They've been mentioned in a couple of threads on here in the past, but no-one seemed to know if they fit properly. They do. They're about £13 each from zygology and are made by Southco, the same firm that make the originals for BMW. But these are an all metal hinge, not easy break plastic.

Zygology were happy to take a small order over the phone, although they banged on a fairly hefty £9.50 postage.

They fitted straight on using the original gaskets and bolts, through the original mounting holes. Hopefully they'll prove stronger than the originals, which I've managed to break more than once.

Thats good to know. I bought some ages ago from RS Components that I was told were identical but they were just too small and don't fit properly so I'll get some of these instead.:thumby:
