My PC is about 7 years old, RAM is , maybe 0.526G.

Main reason is that I recently bought a new camera, a Nikon Coolpix P100. My non existent PC knowledge would guess that my current PC doesn't have the processing power to cope with it.

This is what i am thinking of getting. All I use the PC for is storing photos, and surfing the 'net. I recently bought a 1 terrabyte external hard drive to back up this PC, so the size of any new PC hard drive is not a factor.

So does this look like it would suit my needs?

Microsoft Windows 7 home premium pre installed takes it up from £260 to £350. Is this the way to go? Are there any better alternatives, i have no idea

Yes it would be fine. Just note that the price goes up to £349 if you want Windows installed and the monitor in the picture is not included.

You could just download Linux to a bootable DVD/CD and install that for free.

This might be a better deal if you want Windows 7 included http://www.ebuyer.com/product/255997
