My front discs have suddenly started to rattle really badly:eek:

Ok, never mind, replace the boddins and washers was my thought but the discs have rivetted bobbins so no can do:blast

Am I stiffed with going to genuine discs?

Discs are in good shape, anyone ground them off and rebuilt using a bobbin kit?

Roger.

Rivets? Mine doesn't have any rivets, the disks as one piece with the floating part being the bolts and washers that hold the disk to the wheel.

+1 same here. I take the disks off when I change the front tyre and inspect the bobbins/bolts at the same time.

Later models (2008+ ?) have a pre fitted floating mechanism that is supplied with the disk (and I don't think can be removed) earlier models have bobbins and sprung washers.

Yeah, my discs are the very late '08 pre-fitted floating device type where the bobbin assembly is attached to the disk with washers etc and then rivetted over.

Don't see the point other than costing much more to overhaul.. i.e it appears you can't:blast

Roger.
