Replacing left hand throttle cable

I need to replace mine. Whilst I am waiting for the cable are there any tips to do this or is it a straight forward matter of removing the cassette etc.

Replace the righthand cable at the same time.
And have a pulley wheel securing circlip handy as 99% of them break when removed.
