I've just been checking how easy it is (or not) to replace the various bulbs on the 1200GS. I prefer to try this sort of thing for the first time in clean, dry and well-lit conditions, rather than on a dark and stormy night with my hands cold and wet!
The headlamps bulb access covers are tricky to remove unless you have unusually small yet strong hands, but it's possible. However, getting at the sidelamp bulb holder appears to be a real sod. I can barely even touch it, let alone get a decent hold on it. In fact, there isn't much to get hold of at all, except the wiring of course, and that wouldn't be good. I suppose I could fabricate some sort of tool to get a grip on either side of the holder, but surely there must be an easier way?
I know it's not a critical bulb, and you wouldn't need to change it while out on the road, but if anyone has any practical tips on getting at the thing, then I'd be grateful.
