Evening!

I'm half way through replacing the lock bar on my 1100 (the long plastic part that lies under the seat and connects the lock to the two seat-retaining catches).

I am trying to remove the lock mechanism from the old part so that I can fit it to the new one - please can someone tell me how to get it out?

1) Using the key, I'm able to rotate the lock body a full 270 degrees (from one side of the stop to the other) but in no position does it seem to loosen up so that I can tap in out.

2) It looks like it should come out towards the side where the key goes in, if that makes sense, is this correct?

I believe that replacing these is a pretty common occurence - anyone been there and done it?

Look straight on at the lock. See two very small screws in the plastic surround.

Undo those, pull the lock and plastic rail away from the lock channel.

You should now be able to see into the back of the lock. You'll see a small brass tab keeping the lock barrel in place/position.

Push it in with a small screwdriver, and the lock barrell pulls out ( towards you)

Dammit, that's another pint I owe you!!

Thanks mate, all sorted.

That was so easy, I really appreciate the tip - it means I can finish the job tonight and finally stop having to bungy my seat on!!
