I'm gonna get a y piece from andy in the new year.
Anyone know where to get the cheapest R/revolution from. :beerjug: blu.

Leave it and don't worry about it. Mine has nearly 100K now and has been run on everthing from piss in Africa to perfect fuel. I've had to change the lambda 3 times due to having to run leaded on occasion and the bike still goes fine. If it's going to blow or fail it will regardless of the Y and Remus.

Recently sold mine after 55,000 miles, 50,000 of them on a remus and Y piece with the original sensor. No problems whatsoever with it.

my setup

ive a remus y piece and lambda probe fitted followed by a standard oe can,and a pannier extension, happy with the power, the remus can was just plain annoying after a 500 mile ride, sounding like a doodlebug.
I get 11 miles to a litre now which i think is around 50mpg,its not too noisy, and ive lost about 3 stone by leaving off the cat.suits me sir.
I'm also running the steptoe link in the fusebox, it came with a yellow cat coding plug suitable for remus y piece and remus silencer, thats gone now and steptoes mod is in.
Before i zip off to italy i'll spin it up on the dyno and see what fuelling ive got.
I'll try it with the steptoe link and yellow coding plug.

Steptoe link?

He must have been bored :rob

More likely searching for the Remus prices, saw the price from 7 and a half years ago without realising the date on the thread and brought it up to buy it before anyone else saw it :D

Had a remus on for about eight months did'nt affect the fuel mixture mid range was slightly better after a ride to the lake district and back the noise was getting on my tits so i went back to OE waste of money IMO

I have an 1100 with Renus Rev and Y piece fitted. Been like that since i bought it 5 years ago. Can the OE silencer be fitted direct to the Remus Y? I have an OE silencer.

I love the current set up except for high fuel consumption and chronic tinitus. :rob

Not really a Y piece. Do you have the straight through pipe or one with a collection box?

Can the OE silencer be fitted direct to the Remus Y?

Not unless you have a hacksaw. The OE & box is one piece

Thinking of going back to OE myself and I don't like annoying the elderly neighbours at 8am.

Straight through.

OK thanks. I'll stick with it as is or fit the entire OE system (which I was trying to avoid as I appreciate the weight loss sans cat

Why not go stubby?

Presumably you have an 1150?

I have an 1150 (GSA) and did as per the sterling gent Coolcarbon (see: http://www.ukgser.com/forums/showthread.php?t=105404)

I did have a remus and y piece and I know the cat is heavy but if you fit a stubby you are fine as the cat is a CE approved silencer I believe.

Rather than cutting and welding though I just got a long metal pole and bashed through the cat and now she's like the old Tunes advert.

Stubby is sprayed black and I can now get 2 full size panniers on the bike. Sounds as good as the remus and the sensor sorts out the rest as I left that in.

So no, I don't. I have seen the stubby fitted on my mate Steve's 1150 and yes, I do appreciate the good points. The 1100 IIRC, doesn't have a cat though,so the collector box won't act as a silencer...?

Also, I have Zega boxes with n/s off set so I won't benefit from the extra space until/unless i ditch the boxes for new ones
