I'change oil and filter every 3-4k , even the car gets done every 6k regardless.
When i come back from a long tour, out in comes , in with the new.
Oil and filters changed regularly prolong the engine life immensely.
My land rover disco did 185k with no problems at all,and no major work aside from servicing
so you would be quite happy to run your bike at low oil pressure for around 8ooo miles, cos the filter starts to block with carbonised oil deposits from about 4k onwards thus reducing oil flow,all for £7.Oil filters are between £7 & £8. Service bike every 6000 miles, but only change the filter every other service (so 12000 miles).
