The modes on my 2013 LC no longer change whilst I am moving, has anyone else had this?
If I'm at a standstill it works fine, I select the mode I want and a second or two later the mode changes. When I am moving the selected mode displays under the current mode but doesn't actually change. This has only started happening this week.:nenau

It won't change on the move if you have drive or apply brakes. See page 105 of owners manual. Hope this helps. Phil

Select mode, pull in clutch, close throttle, blinking mode will go solid indicating selected mode is active. Just a few pages on from the dash layout in the owners manual. Don't give up so easily reading the manual, it is even online.

Thanks chaps, but I've had the bike 3 1/2 years so I know how it works ;) It's only just started playing up. I've tried disconnecting the battery to see if that resets something, I'll try it out later.

Could well be the clutch switch behind the lever. If you have cruise control, does that cut out when you pull in the clutch?

I'll try that tomorrow, thanks. Disconnecting the battery made no difference. If I select another mode whilst moving and then come to a complete stop the mode then changes, but any sort of forward motion and it will not change, very odd.

Here is the definitive answer. I had exactly the same problem on my 13 bike a couple of months back. It is the micro switch on the clutch lever you will probably find it won't start in gear also.
You can check it with a multimeter the connection is underneath.

That sounds very promising then, I'll check the microswitch out tomorrow and report back. Thanks for all the replies, even the sarcastic ones ;)

I tried starting the bike in gear with the clutch in and it didn't start, so it was indeed the clutch micro switch. I gave the switch a good clean and bent out the actuating arm slightly and that appears to have done the trick :thumb2

That's s a result! A real positive for the forum :beerjug:

Just to say, I had similar last month... bike refused to start in gear... read an earlier thread on this forum and feared it may be dodgy micro-switch but transpired the wiring plug had somehow worked its way loose from the terminal on the switch. Pushed back on and all good.
