RIDER DISPLAY CLOCK

I have recently aquired a late 2003 1150 Adventure which I am in the process of tidying at the moment.

My question is the clock in the drivers display unit only works when the ignition is on, which is a pain to reset all the time.

I am sure this is not normal and can only think that it has something to do with the Datatool alarm system that is fitted.

Any pointers would be welcome.

Fuse 3 is OK and there is power to it, is there anyting else you think might be worth checking to fix the issue?
