It would seem a rider was killed while riding between Lesbury and Seahouses today, can't find anything on the local news.

Very sad start to the season:rose

is it that time of year already ...................very sad news :rose

Very sad but there will be a lot more.

I ride just about every day (black ice and I'll take the car).

Yesterday it was dry and bright round here. Load of shiny plastic bikes out, probabaly not been out since last summer.

I was overtaken by one when I was doing 30 (ish) in a 30 limit. He went past at about 60 to 70 mph. And then overtook a car going into a blind bend that has a junction just past it (regular accident spot). :blast

And unfortunately Paul, these guys will continue to shape the future of Anti-Bike legislation....but how to stop it:nenau...

Best wishes to the mans family :rose

Another last too on Beverley Rd, Hull

Hit a car and bounced off into the path of an oncoming vehicle

Firstly I don't know the circs of the crash and my sympathy goes to his family. There was loads of shiney bikes with riders in new looking leathers out today, a large section of which were riding far too fast after their winter lay off.

I've done the sports bike thing but honestly now can't see the attraction of them :rob. They're uncomfortable, too focused and far too fast for the public roads.

Now does anybody want to buy my mint and unused R1............:augie

Ivan Danskin was riding a Yamaha on the B1339 between Alnwick and Embleton when it was involved in the crash, near Stamford, on Sunday morning.

The 40-year-old from the Wallsend area was pronounced dead at the scene. The two people travelling in the lorry were not injured.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact Northumbria Police

very sad :rose

yep that time of year alright

So i shal be soon reverting to riding on the b-roads and smaller when i go into wales.best way to stay clear of the police and the wanabee rossi's who seen to think its fine to come round corners on my side of the road.
The older i get the less sympathy i have for these people, and yes i used to ride sports bikes and yes i did ride fairly quick but i always rode to the conditions, If you want to go mental get yer arse out of bed in the summer at 5am and go mental. Don't do it mid-day on a sunny sunday when every tom and dick are out with the kids in the cars trying to find a pub for lunch.

I honestly have more enjoyment now from plodding along on the harley or Camille than I ever had on sports bikes.

Well, to be fair we don't know who was at fault here or even what type of bike he was riding:nenau

I know what you're saying though, I must say I enjoy my road riding now more than ever since I've got older and slower:rob
