Got out for a day on the GSA yesterday and i think id benefit from a set of bar risers, never fitted anything like that before. Seen the up and back Wunderlich ones, any other brands worth checking out, recommendations or any pros and cons?

On a cautionary note I too fitted Chinese knock off Wunderlict up and back copies to my 1200GS. They came without any instructions and looked the same as the Wunderlict ones. While fitting them one of the threads stripped and on inspection the clamp bolt had only engaged a couple of full turns into the riser body. I then ordered the genuine Wunderlict ones and comparing themmside by side there were differences in both where the rear threads were (which was the one that stripped) and also the bolts were different too, the Wunderlict being special thin headed bolts, the chinky ones just normal bolts that were shorter in length.

Now it coild have been operator error but without any instructions it's impossible to tell but from then on I've not taken any chances with anything that could have safety implications and resticted the chinese stuff to non safety related stuff like handguard extensions, some knock off aux lights and the front plastic engine cover for my RS.

For me it certainly was a case of buy cheap, buy twice

Ali express ones on mine. Worth the saving over the branded ones.

Don't forget to consider the available reach in your hoses, cables etc...

I have the Wunderlich up and back risers on my R1250GS Adventure. Plenty of room with the hoses etc.
They made a real difference to the comfort.

Stuffed a few plastic plugs in the cap heads to keep the water out.

Next stop. A set of genuine Cool Covers for the new seats.

Touratech risers are excellent. I'd keep a look out on here or ebay for used ones. whilst the cheaper ones may be ok i wouldnt risk the failure of the bolts on your critical controls.

I went with the Wunderlich up & back risers. They give me all day rider comfort, and on full lock/tight turns, i do not lean as far forward.

No need to mess with the lines/cables either. Plenty of space/slack in them to cope with these risers.

For a couple of £ on bolts, you could put your mind at rest.

Agree, it’s getting a reliable source for quality bolts can be the challenge.

It's really not. Southend Essex Fasteners or you local motors factors.

Westfield fasteners.

In any case, they’re not going to fail as you cruise the autobahn, if they’ll fail at all, it’s when your mighty steed falls over, and the bars get a proper twatting on some roadside furniture.

Picking it up (assuming you still can) might be an issue if the bars are not properly attached.

Bought some used Wunderlich ones off here, I personally wouldn’t trust the cheaper ones but YMMV.

I have some anti vibe Rox risers I could sell. Think they are on the for sale section. If not send me a message.

I also bought my up and back bar risers on AliExpress, two simple blocks of beautifully CNC machined 4041 alloy and nicely anodised.

I threw the bolts in the bin and fitted my own 8.8 grade tensile steel bolts however.

Two years since fitting, no regrets.

I opted for the BMW straight up 30mm risers. i think the slight lift should do the trick without impacting on my tank bags, if not keep and eye on the for sale section.
Thanks all for the responses.
