About a 1000 miles in to a set. They seem fine. Seem to be a bit skittery when cold but maybe that's just me.

Up to just over 5k nowand they're about done.

Superb tyre, confidence inspiring, excellent in the wet and more long lived than the roadsmarts before them.

Definitely replacing them with the same.

Quite relaxed, just interested in how people find the different tyres, although if the rain don't stop I can see the current pair lasting quite some time!

Wondering what to fit to my Tenere next, loved the old Roadsmarts on the GS, but may look at PR3's, or maybe go with TR91's just to keep the "look" rather than for any off-road ability that they probably don't possess.

Probably boil down to what deals are available if I cannot make up my mind.

I must admit the reports of mega fast steering interest me as the Yam turns a fair bit slower than the GS and these may help liven it up a bit.

Don't suppose anyone has compared RS2 to RP3 or TR91's yet

Thought of the RP3 Trails? My 'wonder' list in the same as yours Rasher with these added.

Had PR3 Trail's fitted to my 2010 GSA about a week ago and so far done about 300 miles on them - very happy right from the off - inspire lots of confidence - initial turn in seems a bit quicker than the old Tourance EXP's but then I am finding that after the initial lean I need a little more counter steer to really get the bike to lean over. I got about 5,300 miles out of the Tourances so hoping these will do better than that. Just in case peeps are not aware when I was researching them I learned that PR3's come in two types Standard and Trail - The difference is the standard rear is 20/60/20 soft hard soft rubber whilst the Trail is 10/80/10 - I chose the latter as I am hoping to get decent mileage from them.

yes it was the rear...so not a problem just kept it nailed ..

Had pr3s on my bike for 7k now and plenty of life in them yet. No square ing off.

Loads of grip etc just dont go on wet gass as i found out the other day.

Im doing 500 mile weeks into london & they are performing great a commuting and a lively ride is also just as good.

Have a set of Dunlop TR91's on my 08 GSA and really like them. Have read good things about the PS3 Trails also. User choice really but I don't ride my GSA like a sports bike so my TR91's are more than up to the job of keeping me safe with reasonable wear also.

Just scrubbed in a set of pr3's on my GSA.

Prefered the exp's tbh.

If anyone wants to make me a sensible offer for the pair- they've done less than 200 miles and are a week old.

I have mine on bout 2500miles now and they are still excellent. It turns the gs in an even better handling road bike! I love the way you can totally change the character of gs by just changing tyres!!

Fitted Pilot 3's (1200GS) and despite plenty of tread left, the rear tyre has feathered and is now giving poor wet road grip. The bike also now feels 'nervous' at lower speeds. I'm taking them off and wont buy them again.

i am looking for new tyres and am considering pr3s at what sort of miles did this occur and whats your overall type/style of riding?

I ride mainly twisty B and C roads in a spirited manner...!! Rarely carry a passenger or excessive loads. I have used Dunlop Roadsmart and Conti Road attack with no issues. These rears last about 5000 miles. When the Michelins were new the bike was frightening for the first 100 miles but they settled down and were acceptable but now the edge of the tread grooves have a quite severe raised edge and I believe this is causing this nervousness and lack of wet road grip. They have done about 4000 miles. I won't use them again.

I have a 2006 1200gs with showa shocks, what tyre pressures are you guys using with your pr3? i had them at 36/42 and found them far to hard and skittery so i went to 32/36 (i used 36/42 on the tourance all the time with no issues) much better, ive about 500 miles on mine, so far so good, also what tp are you using 2 up i found 36/42 was still to much so went down to around 34/38, felt better although my rear shock is due for a rebuild soon so im sure that didnt help the feeling much..

I've used Tourances over the last 70k miles or so and thought they were great wet or dry.
But PR3's have been getting such good reviews that I have changed.
They've now done 3,300 miles, 3k of which was with a pillion and for most of those miles I had full panniers and top box.
I've found them to inspire confidence and grip well, wet or dry.
The rear middle has flattended out some and there is feathering on both sides.
The front still looks like new.
My only complaint is they they jitter a little on some uneven road surfaces when leant over.
If the rear survives to 5k I will be fairly happy with their longevity.

Friends fitted them to a TDM and a K1300r (for that 3k miles) and were unhappy about how they felt in the wet and the feathering in the dry.
Both say that they will be binned in the near future despite having adequate tread left.

Yes I like the PR3s. About 3000 miles in.... mostly commuting with a bit of fast A road every day, they still look like new and are fabulous in the wet.

Maybe I am not hard enough on 'em but they are the best tyres I have had on over 8 BMWs across 15 years.

Do I get a bung from Michelin?
