. They have the Continental dual-compound thing going on, so have harder rubber in the middle of the tread for wear resistance, and softer/grippier rubber towards the edges.
.
Do they?
Coming up for a tyre change myself and wondered the same.Old thread but anyway...
Anyone using Pilot road 4's on an 1150 gs?
In my humble opinion PR4 trails are the finest tyre that you can put on a GS as long as you will be staying on the road !
The feedback and turn in feel is brilliant and grip is beyond mortal limits in the dry and in the wet they are just unbeatable
Not me, Tourance all the way on me 1150 gsa

I've never tried anything on my 1150gsa other than Tourances but that's prolly because I really like them. I also really like the Battlewings ( Deathwings ?) on my 1200gsa - 65,000 miles on them. Watched the Michelin promo video for the PR4's of a bike being ridden bolt upright at pottering speeds on lovely smooth dry roads in summer and a still of someone on a wet racetrack enjoying staggeringly vertical inclination and if that's any indication of how confident the company is in their product I don't feel in the least bit tempted...
I'd have more trust in the tyres the kid with the push bike had fitted - at least he was trying![]()
Fitted PR4 Trails to my 1150gs a couple of weeks ago. I have always had tourances for the past 12 years, but really fancied giving the latest tyre technology a try. The PR4's are much more confidence inspiring, with far better feedback. If you never venture of road (and lets face it the tourances are not really off road tyres anyway) then I would recommend them.
