Just set up the rocker end float, now the long winded 'Merican guide says to tighten the 3 torx screws to 18Nm (and the head bolt 20Nm plus 180deg). Im sure thats not right and I seem to recall they should only be 9Nm?
Can anyone confirm please?

Thanks for the replys. Just seen steptoes guide (ta for the link DM), so they are torqued to 9Nm.

Heres one online guide:

The rocker arms, which are the vertical metal pieces that contain the valve adjustment nuts, will move up or down when pushed by hand. Measure the two gaps where the rocker arms contact the horizontal piece at the bottom. This horizontal piece has several names, including lower rocker arm bearing carrier (LRABC) and rocker arm end plate. This lower rocker arm bearing carrier is held in place by three T45 torx screws in a triangle pattern (on its side) and one large head bolt. The gap between the rocker arm and the LRABC should be between .05mm and .30mm. The smaller the gap the quieter the engine. To adjust the gap, loosen the 3 Torx screws and, after marking the lower head bolt, loosen it also. Snug them back up just enough to hold an adjustment and then tap the LRABC until you have about .05mm end play (gap). Check the gap after tightening because it may tighten up slightly as you torque the screws and bolts back to spec. Retorque the T45 torx screws to 15 ft.lbs. Retorque the head bolt to 17 ft.lbs. and then turn the bolt an additional 180-degrees (torque it and then move the wrench through another half circle).

15 ft lbs, that's around 20Nm??!!

The other 500 page how to check and adjust it states the T45s are torqued to 18Nm!!

Interestingly, the workshop manual does not give a value (that I can see). The T45s are 8mm, so 9Nm seems very low (and they took a fair old pull to release there grip).

Thanks Cookie.
I looked at that page, and all the others. The 9Nm on there refers to the M6 screws. The T45's are M8's. 9Nm seems very low for a M8

Found it. Page 72 and its 18Nm for the 1150 :-) (and 15Nm for the 1100)

Sorry, mistook for a head bolt :blast

When I did mine at the weekend I set the wrench t 9Nm and I thought it was a bit `loose` so I did nip them up a bit further. Should I take the covers off and re-set them or just keep an ear out for an increase in noise? I think I will do the latter.:D
