Rolling road and tuning in the Northwest, recommendations

Good afternoon, can anyone recommend a good mechanic with a rolling road who can set up my 2005 GSA 1150? The bike has a decat y piece and a straight through remus end can.

I've only recently acquired the bike and it felt very flat over 4500rpm not wanting to rev out. I have just had it serviced at ABW and it run's much sweeter but it has a flat spot between 4500rpm and 5500rpm after which it rev's out like a good un.

Any help warmly appreciated.
 
Well the bike is now flying!!

I started with a talk with Geoff at Hilltop, I took it in and ran it on the rolling road, the fuelling was all over the place, with a surprising over-fuelling where the flat spot was. Geoff remapped it and hey presto with the correct fuelling it ran much better and gained 20ft/lb of torque where the flat spot had been. In between run's he rebalanced the throttle bodies while also working on a BSB Kawasaki (which the dealer couldn't get to fuel right, Geoff fixed the Kawasaki there and then (secondary butterflies weren't functioning properly, with them removed the bike ran much better)

We then ran my bike again and after Geoff told me he'd worked out what was wrong with mine - "39,000 miles and the valves need reshimming, their not closing properly.

I took bike to BMW and the checked and in deed they had stretched and needed shimming! After this was done the bike now absolutely flies, Geoff has a wealth of knowledge and directed me in the right direction for which I am eternally grateful! I intend to revisit in the New Year and re run the bike on his dyno to see how much better it has got.
 
I'm not clear. This is an oilhead? Where are the valve shims? Have I missed something about the oilhead's set up?

Interested though you got it all sorted.

Slippery it's definitely an oilhead, but i don't know exact details about the shims but the valve clearances did need adjusting, being old school I just assumed that meant shim's :ague

Moonhead £350 and worth every penny for the time spent with Geoff looking over my bike.
 
Thanks for the feedback chillipepper. I think, though I'm always ready to be corrected, the oilhead only had tappets.

Can someone clarify what's involved in re-mapping. Can the motronic unit be tinkered with via software mods or does it involve a hardware mod i.e. fitting a new eprom (therefore opening up of the motronic). I'm really not clear on this ref the 11xx

Slippery the 'Hilltop' remap use's the spare space on the existing ECU to write new the new map, there is no hardware mod. Access is via the service port under the seat.

Thanks again. Sounds interesting. For your 350, they did the re-mapping, the valve clearances and a throttle body sync. Is that right? Just to get an idea of what was included.

From my understanding - Geoff diagnosed the valve clearances, and the bike was taken to the BMW dealer for valve adjustment.

Thanks Black Al. I'm asking questions because it has always occurred to me to get the motor set-up as best it can be, once. So I have a benchmark. Obviously having the valves and TBs all done to a T is the first step. But re-mapping wasn't on my list so I'm curious!
