When you head out of Bonar Bridge take the B1976 over the top, great biking road and not much traffic.
Dont mean to be picky but its the B9176, its called locally the Highland TT, was much better when they spent some money on repairs but since the building of the Dornoch Bridge its become second string.
I have been over this road countless times in fast cars, bikes, tractors and HGV, snow, wet and dry, it never fails to impress, off camber corners, 90 deg bends etc.
Well worth doing.
Home was Bonar Bridge for me, brilliant roads about, as peeps have said John O scrotes is shite, but then it is the last part of the journey and also the contrast when you run into Caithness from Sutherland and you go across the peat moors is interesting.
Lots off single track roads in the North West, not too many petrol stations, depending on time of year lots o Blackface sheep, they are unpredictable and may not even move off the road, or wait until the last second then jump into the middle just because they can.
The run along the top from J.O.G following the coast is lovely, awesome beach at Bettyhill, one of Europes best where you can collect you own Garnet stones.
Its a beautiful part of the world.
