Hi all,

I loaded some maps, routes & waypoints to my 2610 last night. I thought I would select one of the routes to make sure everything was OK, but as I activated the route I got a message telling me that the maps didnt cover some of my route (can't remember the exact wording) - how do I find out which part of the mapping is missing ?

Thanks

John

IIWY I'd stop sending maps along with routes and waypoints and just download the maps in one go to the CF card via a CF card reader. And only do that on map updates or if you're going into a new area.

But to answer your question, if you open mapsource and the file that has the problem routes. Then right click on the problem route and click on the "select maps around route" or something like it, and see what extra maps are added. There is another way but without mapsource in front of me I can't remember the exact steps :o

I don't have a 2610, but on all my other Garmin GPS's... if you zoom out the map page a long way, you can see boxes that correspond to the loaded map tiles as the screen refreshes.... if you have some route that crosses out of these areas, you have route "off the map"...

Also, if you have the mapping that goes with those routes, in Mapsource you can select the route, right click and click 'select map segments around this route'... then load the new map segments...

If you don't... perhaps recalculating the route will work?

Al..

Its an easy mistake to make, and luckily an easy mistake to correct. I've done it myself. :o This problem has come up before - have a look at THIS THREAD from when Version 7 came out. :thumb2

You've got a 2610, so a decent sized CF card should let you download virtually all of Europe in one go (as others have mentioned above) rather than download the relevant mapsets you think you need for a particular route.
