rs or rt which one

Here's a proper bloke, a mans man picking up his bike and riding it unlike that Saint ponce.

I once went on a jolly organised by Moet & Chandon to Epernay with a few people (he was one of 'em, riding a K100RS 'Style' if you remember them).

All I can remember is that the girl I took was better looking than the girl he took, which was nice :D

BMW UK weren't impressed when I returned the K100RT I'd borrowed off them completely encrusted in mud, I'd been riding it down long, wet forest tracks...

Anyone remember Slocombes..?

Paul (clothing) was jolly, Ray (parts) was really miserable, while old man Slocombe just looked on...

Dave, I have a 92 r100r roadster. It's fitted with the full BMW screen , touring panniers and takes magnetic tank bags easily.

I love everything about it, in particular it is nimble with a fabulous riding position.

It's not for sale but you are welcome to test ride it if it helps you in your search.

I'm near Staines - pm me if interested.

Just before I nip off on my bike to fetch the sandwiches, I wanted to say that despite Eliminator's bike being a mono, it looks fairly sorted with nice mods and updates etc. IMO easily worth the asking price.

My RT had already been sourced for me before his was for sale, otherwise I would have considered it.

I remember Slocombes. Spot on character descriptions. You forgot the dog that had its own cushion and chair.
I bought a 100/7 from them in 1981-they put on a RS fairing. Took me around France and was comfortable. It's now got boyer eletronic ignition, dual plugged, progressive front fork springs, Koni rear shocks, stainless exhaust system, on its 2nd gearbox, 3rd clutch [probably due to too much stop/start commuting in its 100,000 plus miles]and I've only stopped using it as an everyday bike in 2008 when I got a GS.Will refurbish [not restore] the bike next year. I won't part with it.

not to piss anybody off,but of all the bikes ive had about 48 or so ,the most pratical ,not the most exciting ,but the most practical and comfortable ,was my 1100rt ....................so mmmmmmmmmmmm

is there anything fundamentially wrong with a mono, because i might give eliminator a call ,his bike looks ok,cheap enough

IMHO I think they are excellant machines...just look at base of pushrod tubes to see if any leaks ( misting is OK ) - quite a lengthy job to replace, other wise if gearbox etc is OK...jobs a good un. :thumb2

Airheads were fab. If i could buy a newn1987 R80RT Mono , or a 1984 R100RS I would. But I can't, and they are all too old now to be reliable. Nostalgia is a wonderful thing, but it is shit at 05:30 when the fucker won't start. Great for a toy, but useless for transport.

Sorry.

An R1100/1150RT is a another matter......
