rs or rt which one

The fork caps ( IIRC ) tighten down onto the top yoke ( but have a closer look, not sure about the later RT's ). If not just loosen the top and bottom yoke pinch bolts ( may have to gently/minutely prise the clamps apart ) and the stancions should simply drop down...obviously wheel / brakes etc have to be removed. Don't overtighten pinch bolts when putting it back together :thumb2

There's something about airheads that makes you want to take them to bits & put them back together again :D

i didnt want to do anything really ,but the swining arm was tatty ,the little side bits on the rear foot panels are tatty ,the battery box was a bit scabby,(now all stripped ,rubbed down ,and wire brush on drill),ready to paint .
i just want to get it right before i start riding it ,oh and the pannier rails are next on my list today, plus rear sub frame .
ill spray them with smoothrite ,as i have a heated shower room in the shed ,which is now going to double up as a spray booth..
pics to follow today ,maybe.

:D Good it's found a loving owner.

Of course now that the rear end is shiny, can you stop yourself going too far? :P

i have to admit ,to getting the brasso out for the wing nut on the back brake , ( does the phrase ,get a life dave ),seem right

well it wouldnt be the first time hey mate ?! :D

it certainly is in good hands , all of Daves bikes improve whilst in his ownership...........dibs on the RT !!:D

unless its a keeper :augie :thumb

ive booked two hours polishing time tommorow , the rest of the bits are of to the powder coaters ,ill maybe get the final drive off tommorow,
i have been under the engine sump with the degreaser ,and scotch brite :blast

You did tell me about your polishing habits, I didn't realize quite how extreme though.:D

It had improved on when I bought it, although not to the extent that it's about to.
