RT to GS?

word of warning , I read you said you were riding it on the coldest most icy day. If your local council has therfor been laying salt/sand on the roads you need to wash down your panniers on the underneath and insides before the salt attacks them. Either ride with them off or you will need to coat them with some means of protection ...

I also have the same. First purchase fender extender abd wire in heated clothing. Enjoy mate

Hi,

Yes, I've washed the bike when I got back and planning to do an ACF50 treatment tomorrow.

+1...

Looks stunning, bought my gsa lc in late November... we will all be waiting for warmer weather... I covered 130 very cold miles today:D
And yes, the boxes were off... good advice all round

Well, despite organising the swap on the coldest, most icy day of the year I managed to get it home safe and sound.
Love this bike.

Insurance

Has anyone else noticed a big jump in insurance premium going from RT WC to GSA, mines gone up almost double?

A lot to do with the theft figures I would imagine.

At least one of the insurers over here in Ireland has put a price limit on what they will insure....... this puts most specced up GS's of the list of bikes they will insure.

Have you done this part way through your policy as Insurers often hike the premium up if you change part way through the year as they have you over a barrel. If this is your renewal quote just shop around. Try the Bike insurer comparison

site :beerjug:

Also if the bike is worth over 15k this will probably not help- My GS insurance came down this year because of the 15k limit which some insurers have

Yes it is part way through the policy but also looked at new with another broker, came out about the same.

Carole Nash wanted another £130 to go from a limited edition RT to a regular Triple Black GSA mid way through the year.
They did it because they know people won't want to lose 6 months worth of no claims, which I don't.
I said sure thing, but just so you know I'm not going to be renewing with you again.
They didn't care about that.

I'm going to give Adrian Flux a try next, but no matter what you do you always get screwed with insurance.
