RTF files to IMac

Was sent two letters via e-mail to my IMac, when I have opened them they are in RTF format.

Have not come across this format before but there is something seriously wrong as the shortest
letter is only half a A4 page in size but when I tried to print it it is spread across 3,560 pages.

Thats like one word for 50 pages.

Anybody throw some light on what the problem could be please ?

Have you checked your print settings or save as settings.

What you could do to print it out, is to 'select all' within the RTF document and copy it to Word or Pages, whichever you use, and print it out from there, where you'll be able to format it however you want.
