RTLC ICONIC

Nice choice of words there,Nutster, seeing as it would appear it's salt that destroys a modern BMW within 6 months !!!

Salt, not cleaning it and leaving it to stand for a few days. Mind you, that would corrode any bike :rob I guess that other riders / bike forums of other makes also moan of early corrosion of their pride and joys. I give credit to BMW for actually changing components (particularly engines!) - not sure if other manufacturers would do this.

I was very interested in the Iconic, beautiful bike!, and asked about a part ex price for my 2015 RT LE with comfort package, audio and topbox, blue and silver, with 6000 miles.
I was offered £11500 for it against a new Iconic. Not impressed!!!!
I never inquired any further!!!!

However, could be re-interested(?) if I'd got offered something similar to what DC was offered for his.

Could you please tell me who was the dealer DC?

Yep It was Park Lane in London. I deal with them on all my bikes normally . I have a great customer ? Dealer relationship with them and they did offer me top dollar ,still a lot more dosh than i wanted to spend for basically the exact same bike …..but in red …..i still believe that when the 100 models go…..they will make more …..they did exactly this with the HP4, i had number 560 of the 1000,,now you can get basically any number you want on one …JOKE

And the runt of the litter is.....Iconic No. 1

Iconic RT

I was in Cotswold Motorrad on Thursday morning they had an unsold Iconic RT, not their first and probably not their last.

Bloody lovely to look at, just not for me. Had a 90th edition for 6000 miles and 12 months, chopped it for a Multi for 18 months which I chopped off a GSA, which I'm very pleased with.

Is this a one off paint job ? looks like a Kawasaki

I don't know the reason for the Green paint job - but it is not another Iconic colour. They are: "Candy Burgundy Smoked Effect inspired by the 'Lava Rot' R 100 RT from the 1970's".

Apparently this is a one-off. BMW made two Iconic no. 1's the other one is red. IMHO it just looks wrong in Kwaker green (and i love Kwakers)

keyless option is not available nor does the Iconic get a quickshifter.

The Iconic has every option including the QS, except keyless ride.

Hi,

I'm new to this forum.
I'm considering buying an Iconic RT.
Wondering how folks are getting on with theirs?
Everyone happy so far?

Does anyone have any evidence of the Nav being thrown into the deal?
I'd like to be able to have a bargaining chip with the dealer if possible- it wasn't offered to me when I enquired and I only found out about it via this forum.

Hi Stonehenge,

What I meant was is there some sort of link to a deal on BMW's website or some other thing I can present to the BMW dealer to show I am aware of the bundled Nav?
I'm aware that these are slow movers and I'm trying to get a bit of a deal.
I've been offered a bit of discount but I'm trying to push for the best deal I can.

Cheers.

Hi mate and welcome to the forum. Lots of useful info here.

I've only done 1700 miles to date on my Iconic, and i'm loving it.

Although on paper, my new bike is no different (apart from the paint) from my previous 2014 RTLC. This 2016 model has a better gearbox and even smoother engine.

I was emailed by the dealer - Bahnstormer. Not sure if this is a BMW offer or a dealer one. This info is just a phone call away!

Hi Yonkyo,

Glad you are enjoying it.
I'm waiting for a final call back from a dealer about the Iconic pricing and weighing it up versus a San Marino blue one without audio.
I'd like the Iconic but it is £2800 more expensive than the audio less blue bike.
The other choice is to wait for September and get a 2017 bike, but I'd rather have something for this riding season if possible.

Yonkyo

Did the Iconic come with Pro Shift?

I'm not sure about it....

Yes, the extra £££ for the Iconic does seem steep for fancy paint and seats and audio, but remember you also get the fancy topbox, which costs £1000.
