Rubber bobbin removal

Does anybody know the best way of removing these buffers without damaging them? Cheers

Get a deep socket or spanner right to the top and unscrew.

Shifting spanner works just well. Long as it's right at the top..

I shifted mine with an open end spanner.

Sockets and ring spanners have a chamfer inside the business end that wont grip the metal plate against the engine case.
