hi all, just won a rukka armadillo jacket off ebay, its 4 years old and the fellow also gave me the receipt he bought it from bikerland Germany.its still got 1 year warranty left.looked on this site and noticed a lot of fellows getting new jackets as there armadillo turned purple mine has also, been in touch with rukka uk and they said fine send it to us and we will sort it,the thing is my name is not on the receipt do yous think this will stop me getting a new jacket.cheers all :thumb

To be honest, the only way you are gonna find out is if your explain and try.

I am not sure if the warranty is transferable, but at the end of the day I have always found TranAm, the UK importer, really easy to deal with.
The only time I had an issue, with a warranty claim, I emailed Rukka and they sorted it.

It's hardly normal to have a name on a receipt :nenau

I don't know about rukka but items we sell at work are warrantied to the person purchasing. If they sell on end of warranty.

was it not a gift from your cousin?:augie

Your only problem would be that, as the jacket came from Germany, the warranty should be honoured in Germany. TranAm are certainly brilliant at sorting out faults but they arte not so keen on having to honour a warranty on a jacket bought from a different country, probably at a cheaper price than that of the UK.
The fading to purple fault has been a common problem across the range and affects the material that uses the TFL Cool process. I have had my Arma X suit changed twice, the last time for the Arma S as the X was no longer available. TFL Cool is not used anymore because of this problem. Strangely it does not affect every garment and some will last for ever with no fading.
good luck anyway with your claim

TBH I wouldn't think they would care much for a name so long as the receipt is dated that is all that matters ... I have had Rukka everything for years and would swear by it ... A friend at work sprung a leak after only a few months and they swopped it there and then .... And he is the only person I know of who has had a problem and I would rate their customer care as excellent.

go for it if they kick up a fuss ask them to return your old jacket or they more than likely wont notice and you get a new jacket

Personally I think you are taking the proverbial, buying a s/hand jacket and then expecting it to be exchanged for a new one.
Fair enough if you were the original purchaser but you weren't.
I would have no problem sending my Rukka back if it leaked or had a major manufacturing fault but not if it faded after 4 years of use.
Crap like this will eventually stop Rukka offering a full exchange and they will be like everyone else and offer a percentage of value off a new purchase for fading etc.

I with Neil here really.

Faded jacket, so what, I wouldn't dream of trying to exchange one myself.

I thought we were all meant to look rufty tufty biker types anyway.

GOT IT!

hi all sorted with rukka uk . what can I say , spot on service. I talked to a nice lady and told her how id bought the jacket 2nd hand but had the receipt. she said this was fine and to just send it to them. so as I was on a roll I told her I also had a pair of armadillo pants which had also turned a lovely beetroot colour but that I didn't have a receipt for but she told me to send them to and she would see what she could sort out. anyway gear was sent off for testing and was confirmed as faulty goods.( one of reasons why not manufactured anymore). she assured me as it was a manufacturers fault I was not taking the proverbial by returning it. I was then told to go to the rukka website to choose another suit. so I picked an armas suit thinking there is know way ill get that but sure enough yesterday it arrived, brand spanking new armas suit worth £1800 in the shops :JB I know this sounds weird but im not sure about keeping it as rolling about in the mud, campfires etc with me being a proper rufty tufty biker:D, in a £1800 suit. it is size 52 jacket and pants . any offers?:augie thanks to those who gave positive posts. :clap:clap:clap
