Morning all, going to be greedy by asking for your advice on two matters. (1) Am currently running in my GSA with the twin cam engine. Am following the handbook to the letter i.e 0-125 miles 5,500 as often as possible, 125-250 6,500 as often as possible, 250-375 7,500 and 375-600 will be short bursts of max acceleration. Is this how everyone else has 'run' theirs in? I ask as my previous GSA was no more than 4,000 revs until first service. Have spoken with a couple of Motorrad dealers. One stated was not aware of different rev increments and thought that riding in such a manner on a new engine could lead to premature engine wear whist another said it should be run in as per the handbook as is much more robust engine. (2) From experience the aluminium panniers on my previous model scratched very easily and were buggers to keep clean. Have tried a couple of companies who advertise 'protective film' as am thinking of trying this. However having looked at my panniers both companies said they could not do it as would not stick to the natural oils.......Anyone else tried this or should i give it up as a bad idea?
Thanks very much.
