Running in service £184????

Just got mine back and £430 for major service

only difference I can see between yours and mine is that I had the clearances done which was an extra £20

They have also added £50 for A 0000111 (yours is £27) and an additional £20 (as well as the one above) for a 12k service 1100609

Anyone know what a 5k service is, I've been quoted £280.
at what age and odometer reading? E.g. if 2 years old, the price might include a brake flush

if just an annual service on a nearly new bike then seems a bit steep

That's interesting, if you're saying that an annual service should be less then £280 then the service plan may not work out cheaper for me.

Depends on which annaul. The basic oil & filter is circe £200. A full service with air filter, brake fluid, final drive etc is circa £400

A major service is around £430 but thats not including brake fluid and pads. (does include final drive though)

Its £70 just for rear pads and I know a rear fluid change is £30 (no idea about front)

Oil and filters was less than £200 for me last year....

My mate who has the Yamaha Tracer GT is shocked that his is more expensive (both major and minor services) than my 1250 GSA

Personally I would look at buying the extended warranty over the service plan

Mine has cost over 2k so far in warranty claims

BMW have the brake fluid change at year 1, 3 etc
Supposed to fall on the minor service
Year 1, I do not know why

I was told the 5k service on a 23 GSA (1 year old) was £280 to include Oil and filter and brake fluid, the final drive wasn't mentioned.
They seemed more interested in the SOS fault that they could claim from BMW, maybe a little unfair tao say.

Final drive is on the 12k Major service (but not brake fluid)

The three year service plan is £790, so a couple of annuals / minors at £230- 280 and a major circa £350- 400, surely the plan will be worthwhile ? As service costs set to rise further, savings will be greater.

I actually had a chat with my dealership yesterday, based on my estimate for 4k miles/year the service costs would be approx:-

Running in service £185
1st annual £271
2nd annual £195
3rd annual £465.

Now as you can't bring your servicing forward it's questionable whether I'd get the 3rd annual covered under the 3 year plan as in theory it would expire the day before it could go in for a service, this means the service plan would be more expensive than the 3 services I would get under the plan (£185 + £271 + £195 = £651).

As the plan can be taken out at any time I'm probably best waiting until the first annual service to take it out as the three services I would get covered would be (£271 + £195 + £465) £931.
