It sounds very iffy and I doubt they have done it, on my bike I had it done by Steptoe at 7k, the dealer had supposedly done it at 600 mile and 3.5k but what came out was dirty, stinky, sludgy crap and there was swarf stuck in the drain plug. Subsequent changes by myself produced a pretty clean oil coming out which suggests although on two occasions my dealer had ticked the box, they had probably never done the bloody work!
You really cannot win as so many dealers are cowboys and it is hard to believe anything they say, if you take it back they will probably wheel it round back for 30 minutes and return it with the work still not done.
On my Tenere I changed the oil myself at 150 miles (FD and Engine) so when it does go in for first service I am not too worried if they do or don't change it.
The problem is you never know if a dealer has done the work properly unless you can stand and watch them, in which case you may as well save yourself the cost and do the job yourself.
I am lucky enough to be capable and comfortable in doing most basic service work myself and having a suitable garage and toolkit, I really feel for those who are not able to do so and have to trust the dealer will look after their bike properly as in my experience there are far more bad dealrs than good ones out there.
Go back and insist on watching the Mo-Fo's do it, and make sure they use a bloody torque wrench

How come you've survived for so long without getting decked by someone ?? I've never known one person come on here and spout so much crap about dealers as you do. Have you just pissed so many of them off over the years you've just run out of options so you have to maintain your bikes youself or what ? I really find your remarks quite offensive .
