Now then here is a tricky one, r80rt goes like stink but as soon as constant speed is reached 60 70 80 90 kin thing starts to miss, done all the obvious carbs, tank all cleaned checked etc , starts on the button accelerates as though its got a wasp up its arse, soon as speed bcomes constant misses, pull in a layby and pull out imediatly again goes like a train half a mile and back to missing only happens on a dual carriage way a roads etc fine any thoughts

It may be as simple as needing one size bigger main jets, I just had to up mine from 145 to 150 on the Mono cause it runs out of fuel every time I go up Leadenham Hill on full throttle, problem now cured!

Had the exact same with a R100r turned out to be the float levels ,bike was being starved ,how they came to be bent out of level is beyond me but that wsas the problem ,easy check (proff I think )turn the carb on its back and the float should lie level.Easy one to rule out.

Even easier to turn the the fuel on and off then remove one bowl and measure the depth- 25 mm deep in the centre well if you have 40 mm carbs, or 22 mm in 32mms works well.

Replace that bowl, fuel off on again then check other side - this stops the fuel in the hoses draining into the second bowl and you get a reasonably accurate reading of the thing that matters, the fuel level , on both sides.

And if you scribe a line at the correct level inside the bowl it will be even easier next time.

Well after much f**kin about float levels now the same also one carb slide very tight had to apply some fine valve grinding paste to free it off, bike now seems ok give it some stick 70/80/90 for long periods all well, untill doing about 40, fuel starvation flicked to reserve sorted but not low on fuel, flicked back to normal position, running great, yes I have had the filters out of tank, could be some shite in the taps anyone striped taps owt to watch out for
