Therefore, grease is more subtle.
Or we could just forget about oil or grease, and refer to "lube" instead.

I think they should make the discs out of cheese 'cos I've never seen rusty cheese.
Listen to the answers old son. Steel goes rusty and you can't stop that. It doesn't affect brake performance at all altough it doesn't look good. My 1200 lives outside and gets light surface rust from time to time but I don't worry.
If they fit new discs, which I doubt they will do, the new ones will rust as well so it's probably something you will have to live with. Get ready for your disc and brake bolts going the same way

Most sensible reply so far - just keep cleaning them if you want to keep them shiny and pristine and all will be good in your world - I rode my LC on salty roads just after I bought it, I covered it in Scotoiler 365 apart from the brakes! and there is a slight dusting of rust in places on the discs, it is inevitable, but I will clean it off this weekend and they will be like new again.
