Just had the R1150GS run through its MoT today and the mechanic pointed out that the oil line that runs down the left of the engine and up to the radiator is beginning to look like it's about to fail.
Anyone replaced one of these and have any guide on how easy it is to do? Anyone got a 'how to' guide?

TIA

David

If its the one from the left oil cooler connection down the l/h side of the engine and bolts to the engine just under the sight glass yes.
Mine was badly corroded and they are normally £75 but got it for £15 new.
Simple to fit on a 1100, jubilee clip to oil cooler (drain oil 1st, less messy) two bolts on front engine casing and two new washers for the bolt on side of the engine 20 mins

A picture... This from the 1100... just a guess on my part but I wouldn't have thought the 1150 would be much different.

It doesn't look horribly difficult... but i'm sure someone will be along to give you a definitive answer... bad luck on this chap.. its an odd one. I've never seen that pipe as being a problem... one to watch i guess.

No. 11 - If that a diag of the 1150 its different to 1100, it looks like they put a union connection on the oil cooler instead of a push on and banjo clip. Adds to the cost i suspect :augie
I will be wax oiling mine so it don't go again

Oil pipe

Only rusty on the out side!

Still not bad to remove, the lower washers are the same as sump plug ones, why not remove and wire brush/paint it?
