S1000XR

On the accessories page for the XR, it mentions a locking mount (factory fitted), but the mount from the factory isn't lockable.:blast

I'll see what that's all about when I speak to my dealer this morning.

Cheers Nutty
It does seem a bit odd and to be fair a real pain in the butt, to have to keep removing it.

HP levers and engine guards fitted today; they are lovely, and feel SO much better than the crap they fitted at the factory!:drool:D

If you're going to change your levers, don't piss about with aftermarket crap that will interfere with the cruise control, just get the HP ones, they're great.:green gri

How much are the HP levers Nutty, the standard ones are a stretch for me on the clutch side any way.

Cheers Terry

Jeez that's a lot think I will keep em standard even with my discount that's a lot blimey, thought. You was going to come back with about £100 and that was on the up side of what I though too.
Shocked

Out of curiosity how come the levers interfere with the cruise control?

Because in the lever assy on the sport and se model bikes there are 2 rocker switches so I'm told, the aftermarket levers (that i also brought as well ) were designed on a stock bike with no shifter and so there is only one rocker switch in the assy.

But they can fitted with a little know how, I'm on the case

At £40 a pop against £280, the HP may be cnc but £280 i fitted the same levers on a brand new crossrunner yesterday and they were perfect.

Which Kriega is that Rich it may save me getting a tank bag

It's a US10.:thumb Perfect for my overnight trip to the Hograost. I've also got a US30 for longer trips, but would need to mount it to the luggage rack (when it arrives from BMW :augie), as getting my leg over the 10 was hard enough, with my back!

Yep, it's the cruise control tags that are the issue, with aftermarket levers.

Dave, you've spent a fortune on your bike, and have ordered a load of HP stuff/ Akra, so why are you putting cheap £40 levers on the bike?:nenau

I have the BMW large soft bag (thrown in as a sweeter) but that will be too big for every day which was why I am looking at tank bags
fancy the bags connection evo city but that kriega looks good on there

I'm not a fan of tank bags. For me, the Kreiga stuff is fantastic. Once you have the straps under the seat, it takes about 2 seconds to strap down the bag, so is a doodle to use, and it looks great.:thumb

my bro's having issues rejecting his new bag of shite MV because they're trying to blame the cheap levers for messing with the clutch/quickshifter:blast..Chinese levers are incredible value for money i bought some for the monster. but i do regret it cos every bike i see has exactly the same ebay levers! Go with the Gilles HP ..its not just a lever..its art. plus you'll get most of ya money back when you sell on

If he's trying to reject his bike for that reason, it ain't gonna happen!:D

If you're going to spend near on £15k for a bike, another £280 for levers is a drop in the ocean!

Even cheaper if you negotiate them with the bike, which I didn't do, as I thought the ones from my R would fit!:blast

I sold them for £200 though, so they do hold a large percentage of their value if you ever have to sell them.:thumb
