As above, next event is a 3 hour event on Sunday 20th Feb.

Full details on club site: http://www.setra-enduro.co.uk/

The club has moved into 21st century and you can now enter online:)

I'll be there again on my KTM300 with son Martin on his Honda CRF230.

Its a fantastic event, very well run with friendly helpful officials. Hopefully the next event will be a bit warmer than the Nov one which was held in temps of -5 degrees.

Would be great to see several others from this site again?

Folks what does the scrutineering entail? I raced at club level for road racing and the 'scrutes' were very keen. What is there to check on my DR Z 400 that might prevent me taking part
Cheers

When we were there in November they just gave the bike a very quick lookover in about 15 seconds. It was not a severe check of everything on the bike. More of a simple extra safety check. As long as nothing is hanging off you should pass fine...

yeah I'd second that, I've only done the event once, it's all offroad and also as your bike looks ok and aint too noisy you should be fine

when I was there they didnt even have a gauge for checking noise levels

If it's a DRZ400 'E' with the standard exhaust they might get a tad pissed off :augie

Don't think they are worried about exhausts at all. There were some full-on MX bikes that were noisy and nobody seemed to mind. As my son says above it is only a very brief check. Check both brakes appear to work and throttle self closes and thats that.

Apparently, a lot of clubs are cutting back on scrutineering. The responsibility is down to the rider instead which I think is a good thing. If they check over every nut and bolt of the bike and then it falls to bits, some people would try to sue them for not checking it enough. I firmly believe it is your own responsibility to check over your own bike to make sure it is safe for the event.

As I said the club is very helpful and friendly and the scrutineers as nice people who just want you to have a safe fun time. If in any doubt, just get there a bit earlier to check anything out with them.

I think i'll get an entry in, also might enter Dad and surprise him, no excuses then haha

Yea, go for it. Need another dad/son team in...

You'll be ahead of me/my dad as we'll be fighting for "not last" in sportsman...

I just gotta try and beat him like i did last time:P(on my first enduro and his 3rd)

Oi Junior, don't forget who's preparing your bike...

Never done an enduro, but how hard can it be? (I'll find out soon enough). Me names down!

I'd only ever done a few trail rides and a bit of green laning before my first enduro and it wasn't too bad...

This will be number 3 and as usual the aim is to beat the old man..

He does have a lot better bike/30 years more motorbiking experience/entered more enduros but it's not like i'm making excuses...

On my first race i made 3 full laps before a hefty crash on lap 4 nailed in my gear lever so i had to scoot round the course in first gear to come in... Father beat me in by 20 minutes having also done 4 laps but thanks to a technicality of my fastest lap being about 5 seconds quicker than his i was classified as beating him...

Funnily enough my number is number 2 (250 Husky)

Hope I entered for in the right group?. Should be the Muppet class.

My two lads are numbers 6 (WR450) and 7 (400 KTM). They have no fear, but also no technique, so it should be interesting.
