oh oh oh. What u getting dave..? Is it a serow? Husky? or wheelbarrow? :hide

Hi please count me. Is there any chance of some able bodied individuals helping me lift my XC into and out of the back of my pickup. I can get it on the back of the pick up at home via a convenient slopping bank but I may not be so lucky wherever we meet up. See you Sunday. David

Hi

Not ridden the Plain yet and keen to try. I know you said pogos but if its OK with you guys can I give it a go on the GS 1150. Its got knobblies and I'm good at falling off.

If its too much I will bail out and leave you guys to crack on.

So long as there aren't ruts up to the heads I'd hope to cope.

Thanks, Mike

Mike,

normally i wouldn't have a problem, but with the weather getting colder now, i really don't want to freeze while watching you recover your bike out of ruts or pick the bloody thing up for the umpteenth time.

This isn't ment as a put down to your skill level, i'm just trying to be practical.

The pace on the pogo rides is normally pretty quick, and a well ridden 1150 can keep up in the dry (summer), but with the change in seasons, it will be a totally different ball game.

I'm looking at doing this if your interested:

If you find the going to easy i can always point you in the direction of something a little more testing :D

Err - how does this work then?

Enjoyed it - One day I need to learn all the routes as I can only remember certain bits - not enough to string them all together.

Lack of maintanance

Possibly the opposite steve. I'd adjusted and lubed the chain as per instructions yesterday.

Starting to think that recommended chain slack isn;t enough, and after a heavy landing on the last of a series of whoops, the lack of slack was enough to snap the chain :blast

i had my chain at the minimum 25mm slack when it went in for a service and the tech said that was too tight and now run with 30mm minimum. Mind you also had an issue on the plain perimeter road a few weeks back whereby i had adjusted my chain as per above and 70 miles into the ride started hearing and feeling weird noises and vibrations stopped and my chain had only 2mm of free play and it wasnt at the normal tight spot. was an expensive chain too rk xzw or something like that :nenau

Me too, I run 40mm at least and maybe more

Many folks have commented how slack it is when parked on the sidestand
