About time for another one up north.:augie

Please note this is a provisional date only until I have confirmed arrangements with Animal.

Open to all, but those with proper trail bikes please be aware it will be a gentle plod for those new to the lanes and those on less agile bikes, on easier lanes.

Meet @ Walkers Cafe, Mildenhall (Just off A11 "Fiveways" roundabout in the layby at the bottom of the A1065) ready for a 10:00 start.
There is a petrol station at the roundabout, so please fill up* before hand.
(*= You might want to consider just how full you need to be if you own a bike with a large tank. It all adds to the weight you have to balance/pick up when you don't. I use less than one 8l tank on the 450 doing this route)

I plan to pretty much stick to the normal marker system, so please take a look here:
http://www.therevcounter.com/ride-outs-events/6930-rideout-ettiquette.html
Also PLEASE take a look at http://www.trf.org.uk/download.php?FILE=102 and note the TRF code of conduct.

I can't really tell you too much about the route/distance etc, as I plan to cuff it, according to how well people are doing.
What I can tell you is, being Suffolk/Norfolk there are no big/steep hills and the trail is generally well graded and all weather suitable.
There WILL however be the odd slippery/sandy/muddy patch, but if everyone looks out for each other they won't present anything more than a "challenge" to your mind. They aren't difficult and unless you get it WAY wrong and end up in the trees:o, shouldn't be at all bike damaging if you do get it wrong.:)
That said, if people are finding it too easy, I can alter to suit.:burnout:
Suck it and see as they say. ;D

Above all, the day is yours to enjoy, but please, not at the expense of other countryside users.

I'd love to come on my R1100 as I've never done green laning before and I'm only 20 mls away,
but I only have BT020's and can't afford anything "meatier" just yet. I guess I'd be all over the place?

So on that basis....have a great time lads!:thumb2

Come give it a go, you can always bail if its too hard. Most of the routes will be fairly hard packed gravel/sand mix so not particularly slippery. Plenty of people on road rubber last time.

I have ridden the route on supercorsas. :thumb

Hopefully me plus another, both on 1150GS's, do I need to bring a plough :D If we're going into Norfolk do we need to bring wide fitting boots to accomodate the 6th toe :eek

Coming from Suffolk with your lardy dah contemporary ways.:augie

Please count me in Adam as I really enjoyed the last one you did, and I "managed" OK on fairly well worn road tyres but have now invested in some new Tourances and some decent pegs to make all that standing more comfortable, so hopefully should be slightly better.

I think I can safely say most of you guys were doing loads better as the day wore on. You should have no worries at all this time mate. :thumb2

Gonna try the hole? :thumb:D

Should be able to join up again Adam. Be pogoing again, but more than happy to offer tips and words of encouragement to any first timers. :D

Adam - complete and utter newbie but if I can get back to home (Norwich)Friday night can I tag along. have 1200 GSA which has an urge to get dirty.

Cheers

Phil

Hope to be there .. I feel a bit guilty as I should really do it on the 1200 as its an easy bimble, but I bought me a Serow a few weeks ago and aint had a chance to play with it yet, so will use that instead..
Brucey baby, I did a similar run on the 1150 with tyres that were more or less slicks.. You will be surprised mate.. just come along :P

Hello John. Long time no see.:)

How's you and how's Thetford?

Couldn't nip round and check my house is still standing could ya (Polish tenants innit)? :D
Bit of a trek from Fareham to get Lisa's VFR400 serviced by ya, so we traded it in for an ER6n instead.:aidan

Hi Adam,

I've organised a pass, so I'll be along on the DR :thumb2

Sounds great fun, will be along to get the 12gs dirty. Total novice so are textiles enough or should waterproofs be added? What time do you expect to finish?
