Sat 9th Feb Lakes Ride (some will be camping)

Booked the Friday off work today.

I know the Lakes fairly well, but mainly from a walker's or MTB point of view.

Why not circulate the route beforehand? If we each carry a copy with us, it shouldn't be too difficult if there are a couple of groups, or if we get split up.

I can bring my TomTom if necessary. I wasn't going to originally, as it's not as if there are big towns to get lost in and there aren't that many roads and junctions anyway.

If you email me the route you're suggesting I'm happy to put it into TomTom-speak for anyone else who has one.

I also hope to have my Autocom fitted by then and they allow bike to bike communication don't they?

By "lanes" do you mean offroad ones or back roads? If it's the former, please ignore my previous post! Me and my bike intend sticking to the tarmac.

I'd like to try riding offroad but on road tyres in the Lake District is probably not the best way to start!

In regards the lanes in the lakes we have limit to 6 riders, those are the rules set by CC ,not me.:)
no reason why we can not have two groups, but i'm not sure if anyone else knows the lanes up there ?? is the anyone in our groups?

Once the route is sorted it can be passed out. Then there will be no problem in splitting the group if we're too many on the day.

As for the lanes I'm not expecting there to be more than 6 takers for the sections but if so the same will need to be done then:thumb

They do, but only if you have Walkie Talkies as well. I have a spare that I could bring along if needed? oh and I have a Garmin if we need to do two groups on the same route :thumb2

The good news also is they have both b&b and a bunk house.:ymca

anyone wanting to book in can just give them a call:thumb

Could just do with carry on camping on TV now to get us in the mood:D

We will see how this goes but on paper it looks like a good place for a bigger meet at some point.
