Guys

found a listing on gumtree (to good to be true) but after a few e-mails I was given a fake ebay page to look at

http://www.signin.e.b.a.y.co.uk5961...3-bmw-r1200-gs-te/a567563388224-545/?Viewitem

Please DO NOT put your details into this page!!!

Not sure what to do with this as I don't have the time to sort it out or know who to report this to???

The person I have been emailing is Matilda Kelly Bryant ([email protected]) and a quick google has revealed they have done this before with boats etc.

Please lets make everybody aware if these arseholes!!!

If anybody knows what to do about these or would like more information then feel free to pm me.

Lets look out for each other:rob

File a report under "Report Item" on listing page ,three clicks of the mouse job's a fish

A common scam is to ask for an Escrow service to hold the cash until goods are collected. It's a fake service of course.

Update ...Gumtree advert has now been removed ;)

I was looking at the same "too good to be true" bike - fortunately had only sent a first enquiry so no details passed on.

Got an email from Gumtree this morning warning me and providing advice etc

I guess if it looks too good it probably is - hope this doesn't adversely affect the "real" seller

Well the basics of ecommerce apply which include:

- check the url
- check the SSL certificate
and more....

Brand owners will take fake sites passing off very seriously.
