TBH if he just wants shot of it, and given the condition, then an auction is probably the easiest way but I'd avoid Mathewsons as they're a) a long way away and b) have quite high fees (I've bought from them). If you've a car with a high intrinsic value then Mathewsons might be worth dealing with but, being kind, this is an old banger which doesn't really have that high a desireability factor. There's at least another two classic car auction sites as well as Barons quite close to Southampton. I'd pick one that had an auction coming up and give them a call.I've no idea TBH, just thought it might be an easy option as they'll turn up, get it out and take it away. No doubt they'd tell him pver the phone what the costs involved were and he could then decide if he wanted to use them or not.
