Scooters on ferry crossings

Off to Spain in September on my 350ADV using the ferry from Plymouth to Santander, and then the hop from Algeciras to Ceuta.

It it was a "normal" bike I'd put it in gear, on it's side stand, have a bungy from the front to the side stand to make sure the stand stayed down, and lots of frame options etc for lashing it down. So, any relevant top tips for keeping it upright and looking as good as possible when on the ferry?

Just use the side stand and get them to chock it front and back as well as strap it down.
That’s what I’ll be doing with mine next month.

As will a cable tie, with the added benefit of being able to display one’s ’Must have’ Leatherman to cut it on arrival. This action alone, affirms and justifies the ADV in adventure.



PS If the rider is not to be trusted with a Leatherman, nail clippers will do.

Well, every time I have been on a Brittany Ferries trip across the sea, they have ratchet strapped across the seat of my motorcycles.
My guess with a scooter it will be either across the foot platform or still over the seat.
Let us know which way they decide to secure your scooter.
