I've been offered a deal on a scottoiler to be possible fitted to my Africa Twin. What's folks thoughts on these things? Essential piece of kit? Complete waste of time?
I've not had much experience with them.

Can be a bit of a faff filling it, depending on location of reservoir. Get the biggest reservoir you can, I suppose? Will make a mess of your rear end! Better with than without though IMO.

Had one on all my chain bikes in past - always went for touring kit with it sandwiched behind tail and number plate. Adjusted correct makes less of a mess of back end than chain lubing once a week - steady drip and easy to adjust as it was being number plate.

Good bit of kit. Can be a bit oily at the rear until you get the oil feed rate sorted. Best get the touring kit so you don't have to fill it as often.

Any auto-oiler is better than none.

I have been using the excellent Tutoro one - no wires or vacuum pipe to worry about, just the oil tube. https://www.tutorochainoiler.com/

It's made in Gloucestershire so support my local companies!

Scottoiler are a very good company. The product's great, their customer service has always been first class and they're continually developing their chain oilers. Also, Fraser Scott who invented the Scottoiler is a hell of a nice guy. Scottoilers are made and assembled in Scotland so keep you guid Scot's poonds on the right side o' the border. :thumb
