During the night of Monday 30th to Tuesday 31st some lowlife scumbags attempemted to steal my 1150 GS from Westbury on Trim

Parked in a secluded part of town they broke the steering lock, tried unsuccessfully to hot-wire it and left mw with damage of £ 350.00

I feel your anger and pain but looking on the upside be grateful that they didn't get away with it. The inconvenience and excess would have been far greater than the cost of repairs.

Sorry to hear this, glad they didn't get away with it. Sounds like opportunistic theft, not that it helps in any way

Bigger chain? Must admit I rarely carry a chain these days, sounds like I should

Glad you have still got the bike. £350 is a pain but less than excess and increased premiums probably. When I was living near Westbury-on-Trym 30 years ago it was a nice area but then I guess in this day and age nowhere is immune to scumbags.

Sorry to hear this Thierry, hope your are sorted soon.. If you need the bike trailered anywhere give me a shout..

Dave.

Never use the steering lock, they just break them and it costs you money. Use a disc lock, u lock or similar as your basic means of locking your bike. I've used this method for donkey's years with no problems. :thumb2
