I manage to loose the seat bolt when the metal thread thingy fell off..:blast

would any of you have an idea what sort of bolt would fit in order to keep the seat in place until the friendly dealer can get me a replacement.

thank you

the one at the back? or the big one at the front to hold the front down?

My seat is currently held on with gaffa tape:augie

the one at the back..

I thought of gaffa tape but too embarashed to ride the HP to work held together by gaffa tape what would be colleagues say...

Probably something to the effect of "you would think if you pay that much for a bike they would think of a better way to hold the seat down than gaffa tape" :D

Gaffa tape would match the grey primer finish elsewhere......

I have a feeling TT do a 'special bolt' that means you do not need the nasty chewing gum key supplied with the bike, but from memory it is just an M6 or maybe M8 so a setscrew and washer would do as an interim measure.

Still like the idea of gaffa tape though :thumb

HP2 seat + superglue

found couple of M6x40mm bolts and they fit perfectly..

AND you can screw the bolt with a penny coin (who cool it that)

(not way I spending GBP 17.00 for the TT bolt,)

I superglued the metal thread bit on the black metal bar under the seat and the seat is safely in place..

thank you all..

silver/grey gaffa for tank holding placstic crap panels on, white for side flashes holding seat down, black for the rear mudguard holding it all together and more silver/ grey for the back of seat cos that's allc ome to bits too....

It's alright looks nice now:augie

You might want to use a heavy duty split washer in there aswell. My DIY bolt kept working loose without one.
You'll notice the original bolt has a graphite (I'm guessing) insert to stop it working loose.

one day...

one day my HP would be as seriously customised as yours I am sure..

only had mine for 3 weeks and spent more time doing "things" on it

(mainly fixing the seat, the shock, looking at the tyres / brake calipers, screen, stand, cutoff switch etc)
than 2 years on a 12GS and a year on a 1150..

I can only look forward for things to start falling off it...
