Stumpy folk off road

I've got the low seat on mine which is fine for on road: balls of both feet on the ground or one fully flat at minimal lean, but I'm more worried about off and rough road riding given that it doesn't take much of a lump under either of the wheels and I loose the ground entirely  . Needless to say its not usually on the flat that problems occur and a foot needs to go down.

Hi

I've got a standard black low seat and also the black rear seat. You can have the pair for £120 plus postage they are hardly used. Like a few hours driving.

Just ordered a BMW GS low seat for my GSA, £152. I'm running a standard GS seat on it at the moment which is not too bad, I'm 5'9, but I've had a few moments moving the bike around while sitting on it, mainly a confidence thing but all you need is a bit of diesel at the pumps or as did, parked it down hill in a car park, what a twat!

Similar situation to above. 30" leg with standard seat on lowest setting.and can get the balls of both feet on the ground, however struggle a little esepcially on uneven ground, Got a loan of the BMW low seat and tried it for 2 weeks. Made it easier to reach the ground and could get more of my feet on the ground. It did help a lot, However to me it seemed that the BMW low seat was just a normal seat with a little padding removed from it. I found it less comfortable than the normal seat and after a spin of 150 miles it was very uncomfortable. So I went back to the normal seat which is more comfortable and make do. I would like any opinions on other low seat options Toutatch/Wunderlich as I would like to get another low seat if it was as comfortable as a standard seat. Thanks

Whadderyamean, lower it?

My heart bleeds for all you poor little Munchkins. How do you get around on a bike with a 26" inside leg? Buy anything from Japan, that's how. Or Italy, Korea, or even Hinckley. Bigger GSs are for REAL men ( probably to compensate for our small middle legs).
Seriously though, the reason I ended up with a GS is that no other make would fit my 6 foot 5 frame, & precious few BMs at that. I felt like a jockey when riding STs & RTs; legs folded tight underneath.
All power to Berlin (or Munich?) for building a bike that taller riders can ride comfortably. As I said above, there's plenty of alternatives for shorter riders, very few for taller ones.
Now if only you'd listened to your mothers & eaten up your vegetables.;-)
And it's amazing how half a dozen GSers & their gear can take over an entire pub.
My tall seat's in the post as I type.
Anyone know how to raise it?
