In over 3yrs on my GS I'd always assumed that the 'high' seat position would be too high for me... but now thinking of getting a GSA, I tried it and it's great! I don't have any probs with putting foot down and it feels... well, just better. I can't say exacly why (maybe a change is as good as...), but it definately feels like an improved ride. :thumb2 Wish I'd done it years ago.

If you've never tried it - try it!

I concur

You don't say how tall you are, but I can say that when I got my GSA I put the seat on the lower position out of a fear of dropping the bike. As I got used to it/braver I put it back to standard/high, and I've never looked back. It did feel better some how, but I put it down to having more room to fit my lanky legs in. I'm 6'1" (186cm in new money).

Should add I have the touratech footpegs that are set back a bit to give me more room around the gear lever. Not sure if this affects things, but they are sold as "long distance footpegs" (or some such).

The 08 GSA with the electronic suspension seems quite a bit lower than the old GSA but I was probably riding around with the suspension set too high/hard for 12k miles!

Size does matter

"....I'm 6'1"...." - well that does help quite a lot! I would only suggest that once you have decided on the best height LEAVE IT THERE and get used to it - or you will get caught out at the lights or on an awkward camber.
