Just changed the plug sin my twin cam. One of the 2ndary plugs was stinking of petrol and was wet . Am I right in thinking these are just there to clean up un burnt fuel?

As a matter of interest, I also found that the dealer had managed to clamp the cable to the primary coil under the screws holding the 2ndary coil shield on. Ive moved it and insulated it for now but another waste of my time sorting their bodge out.

Are you sure they haven't broken the primary feed wire to the coil, hence no spark/unburnt fuel?

I thought it might but am sure that the lead goes to the primary. Tried taking coil off scondary and it run ok.took of other lead and it stll run ok. Now a bit confused!

Carefully check both coil leads for damage. Solder and heat shrink sleeve will be the only reliable repair.

Both plugs now sparking would get stealer to fix but they will try and blame others even though till now they were only ones to touch it.
