On my 1100 sport guzzi I fitted a rally car / tractor type isolator switch with its own key inline on the earth lead. (alarms + vibration = short life) Simple to fit..... hard to nick, but no clocks etc to run. I'd like to fit similar to 1150 gs cause I don't trust alarms and people dont take any notice anyway.......
Where can it be fitted inline to stop some feker driving off but still leave required electrics / electronics powered. (is it only the clocks needing power ??) :mcgun :gringo

Hmm, my alarm is an imobiliser as well. However if you want to fit an isolater switch, the 'kill' switch circuit suggests itself to me. Others might be along with better ideas. Still wouldn't stop a tea leaf wheeling it away though...

Dave,

alarm battery drain

I see loads of threads about low / flat batteries on GS's especially if commuting daily, and hear of loads of money spent on alarms that last less than a year, give problems then ar'nt used any more (good value ?)
I appreciate an alarm / immobiliser is probably a good idea IF it's reliable and does'nt drain the battery, (so YOU'RE stuck !!)
Bear in mind alarms don't seem to stop them wheeling the bike away or into a van !! I do use locks as well ( abus u-bolt + oxford thatcham disclock when out and abus lock/chain ground anchor/door locks/window bars/vampire cats at home !! and getting a garage alarm soon .......OTT ??
Point is..... can you suggest a good value / reliable, alarm/immobiliser that will last , is easy to use and dont drain the battery !??
Hey forgot to say.....thanks for kill switch suggestion, for some reason never thought of that but its obvious really !!?? derrrr :blast
